Tell us random/odd things about yourself!
- This week, I’ve been enamored with Penhaligon’s Lily & Spice and Byredo Parfums’ Blanche fragrances.
- Between being innately clumsy and playing soccer, basketball, softball, tennis and skiing growing up – I’ve managed to procure several broken bones over the years. Not cute.
- While I immensely relish a good Rachel Maddow Show or Law & Order or History/Biography Channel marathon… I watch The View more often than I might like to admit.
- I kind of despise NAFTA.
- I know it’s cliché, but my best-loved museum is and will always be The Met.
Dear Julia, I do not understand this “formspring” thing. Where are the springs, hm? You know, when I was a boy growing up in Germany in a castle, my mother said to me: “Karl, always be wary of devices which do not lend themselves to springs- and never dress in that green again; it doesn’t suit you.” ( I don’t recall which green she was talking about, however I am sure she was right as always.) Now..where was I? Oh, it doesn’t matter. My assistant tells me this..magic box doesn’t even need a postal address to send messages! Isn’t technology fascinating? Love, Karl
Bien sûr! I love you, Kaiser Karl…
I would like to work in fashion ..but i don’t think i’m good enough, do you have any tips of being successful like yourself? xo
Don’t be a silly goose! Believe in yourself and indulge your passion with an unquenchable search for knowledge (by way of research and first-hand experience)!
What are your favorite bookstores and tea houses in the city? Just moved here and you seem to share my appreciation for the written word, and maybe (maybe?) tea as well!
Bookstores:
Three Lives & Co., Left Bank Books, Printed Matter, Dashwood Books, Strand, St. Mark’s Bookshop, Assouline, Rizzoli
Tea:
I practically live for tea! I could go on for epochs here… but to start, Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon and Tea & Sympathy are positively lovely.
