What do you love about England the most?

Just about everything… from the Highlands down to London!

Perhaps most of all, though, is that I feel right at home among their distinctive, self-deprecating wit and eccentric, unapologetic whimsy.

How do you feel about the fuss made over your thin frame, and what is your response to those who say you are an example of the “too thin- fashion” frame?

It’s rather hurtful and tactless that, merely because I work in the fashion industry, (conveniently) anonymous commentators hastily (and spitefully) make false assumptions and concoct malicious untruths. Throughout the past few years I have undergone several medical procedures, excruciating tests and agonizing experimental trials (as I suffer from a host of gastrointestinal diseases); what you describe is one of the chief side effects of one my afflictions: Ulcerative Colitis/Crohn’s. In the past I have been exceedingly private about my condition – only my dearest of friends, agents and editors were clued in, for obvious reasons – and have (with some success) tried to plainly put on a good face. With the approaching new year I thought it best to kick off 2010 with fewer enigmas. Thankfully over time I have been terrificly blessed to garner bountiful wisdom on the subject and am finding a (delicate, quotidian) balance to evade flare-ups and similar circumstances by keeping up with my doctors and holistic professionals, attuning my regime suitably, and finding consolation in the frank fact that my condition has improved accordingly… and knowing that I’m not alone.

Where did your love for Paris stem from? And describe what it was like to enter ‘Colette’ for the first time.

I thoroughly enjoy time spent in Paris – the indisputable fashion capital of the world. While I’m transfixed by the art and history of Paris, it is not the city nearest and dearest to my heart.

Colette is essentially the Elysian Fields of fashion folk. I feel tremendously fortunate to have gotten to know Sarah Lerfel (and her mom, Colette) over the years – she truly possesses the most intuitive, savvy curatorial eyes in European retail today.

I hope 2010 will be your best year yet! (just a phrase I learnt from you!) x

Oh golly Miss Molly! Who is this? That sounds eerily like, well, me! Really though… is this Alice? Anyhoo a very merry 2010 to you (whoever you may be) too!

Hi Julia! Your style has inspired me for a very long time, and I made a collage (so to speak) of some of your outfits. Here it is: http://neutraltuesday.blogspot.com/2009/12/everyones-bunny.html xx

Wow, I am truly taken aback beyond belief. It’s so bizarre to see oneself like that! It looks as though you put ample time into this collage… such a flattering prospect indeed. Thank you kindly for thinking of me!

Feel free to ask me anything!
