…Admittedly wish that I had an affair on my docket befitting of this sky-high hemline—hidden underneath the valance of an ever higher bustier dress—from Stuart Vevers’ Spring 2010 collection for Loewe.
Be sure to pick up the November 2010 issue of Vogue China — featuring coverstars Patricia van der Vliet and Karlie Kloss lensed by Max Vadukul in Louis Vuitton — to view the preliminary images of Annie Leibovitz’s first-ever Gap China campaign. It was a thrill of a lifetime to represent the United States in the San Francisco-based brand’s advertisements kicked off in tandem with the launch of their first retail stores in The People’s Republic of China.

So evocative, romantic, and strikingly sentimental… as a matter of fact, Karlie almost made me forget that I could hardly bear high school. For a fleeting moment I practically yearned for 2004.

So upon viewing Karlie (above) the inevitable just… happened: I of course started singing“…and the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon…”
…And thereby called to mind Vonnegut’s Bokononism and Felix Hoenikker from Cat’s Cradle (1963):

“So I got off the plane, dropped my bag off at my apartment and straight to a train to meet my Haitian friend Lorraine Alexis. As I wanted to hear first hand on her thought on family, friends and colleagues in Haiti. What I learned I can hardly put in words ,amongst the midst of chaos and uncertainty, Lorraine and fellow Haitian relief worker Cedric Desir, were kind enough to give me their personal insights involving the chaos they and their family and friends are experiencing right this very minute. While they shared with me stories of lost and missing loved ones, what astounded me the most was their focus and hope filled plans for a better future for their homeland. I am truly inspired.
