Unless I have a meeting/appointment/work, I generally try to avoid midtown Manhattan at all costs – it tends to veer towards traffic-ridden tourist-trap, in my book – but this Terry Richardson editorial released earlier this summer reminded of the hidden gems therein: specifically the mod workaday culture (of yore) that continues to ensue amongst those towering midcentury glass boxes –– like Gordon Bunshaft’s Lever House or Wallace Harrison’s Time-Life Building [featured above] or essentially everything designed by Emery Roth & Sons.
