[above] Colette’s polka dot party: Marc Jacobs, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons
FACT: I have a perennial penchant for polka dots.
My partiality probably stems from Carolina Herrera’s omnipresent 1980s dots—or perhaps from my lifelong appreciation of Yayoi Kusama’s spotted works—whencesoever I am over the moon about polka dots’ jubilant return this spring.
PS: Tabitha Simmons, Suno, Marni, Roger Vivier, Loewe and Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony all also have polka-dotted pieces currently available [linked].

Samantha Gradoville's Loewe S/S'10 nails Loewe from last season

The chirpy Loewe collection by Stuart Vevers hopped right onto the peppy, childlike bandwagon’ that started rolling this season with Mulberry by Emma Hill — all of which will look perfectly befitting styled amongst similarly bubbly Peter Jensen, Prada, Jil Sander, Suno, Rachel Antonoff, Giles and Versus by Christopher Kane spring 2011 pieces. Throw in some jaunty kindred Luella, Sonia Rykiel and Moschino of yore… and you have got yourself quite the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed garden party ensemble of ladylike teatime separates.

Also, it ought to be noted that it makes me exceedingly happy when people pronounce Loewe correctly. Unsure? No shame! Bum Lucinda Chambers’ diction here: Vogue UK video.
